In developing robots, the interaction of design and technology plays a key role. The Xiaomanlv wheeled logistics robot has been specially developed for terminal logistics. Showcasing an organic language of form, this delivery robot is suitable for a wide range of application scenarios. Integrating the highly advanced AI and auto-driving technology from Alibaba DAMO Academy, it operates based on human-like cognitive intelligence, which makes its emergency response speed seven times faster than that of a human. In its specific area of use, the robot boats a load of up to 100 kg. Moreover, with a 4-kWh charge, it can run for over 100 km and regardless of the weather or GPS connection in garages or tunnels. It features a drawer-type battery that can be replaced within 20 seconds. These features are complemented by an impressive responsiveness to the environment. A sophisticated perception algorithm allows the robot to recognise even small obstacles, while its precise location algorithm enables it to achieve centimetre-level location even in GPS-free environments. An additional intention prediction algorithm allows the robot to recognise the acting intentions of more than 100 pedestrians and vehicles within 0.01 second. In addition, it has five safety designs that allow it to operate reliably in public spaces. In actual operation, the robot’s comprehensive rate of punctual delivery reached 97 per cent.
